Fayose may have been awarded another title, the Sarkin of Ekiti, on Monday by an unlikely source – the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, at a peace-meeting he organised and held in the state yesterday.
In attendance were; the Board of Trustees of MACBAN, represented by a former Kano State governor, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, the President of the association, Muhammadu Kiruwa, some members of the Kano Emirate Council, farmers, vigilantes, heads of security and law enforcement agencies, hunters, and grazing enforcement marshals,
MACBAN said it now had a better understanding of the State’s anti-grazing law, lauded the law and commended the governor for a job well done.
Pouring accolades on Fayose, the association’s President, Kiruwa, along the line in his speech described the governor as the Sarkin of Ekiti (meaning the king of the Fulanis).
“I am really impressed with the governor for organising this meeting. Some state governors would just sit in their offices and not be proactive like Governor Fayose. Some misconceptions that I personally had against the governor have been cleared now.
“I can say it categorically that Governor Ayodele Fayose is a true leader of his people. He is definitely a lover of all groups including the Fulani people. I can say he is the Sarkin Fulani of Ekiti State. He is a peaceful leader and represents hope for all. We align ourselves with the grazing law as made by the Ekiti State Government because it protects the interest of all parties.”
