Artiste Michael Owusu Addo, aka Small Doctor, says before he came to fame as a singer he was doing menial jobs.
“It is true that I was a bus conductor and a commercial motorcyclist. I also hawked sachet water but I thank God for the gift of life now,” the Penalty singer told Punch in an interview.
The Omo Iya Teacher crooner in the same interview, however, dismissed reports that he was an ex-convict.
The report recently went into overdrive after the 21-year-old was at the Kirikiri Medium Prison on October 12, to play for inmates.
Since then, suggestion has been rife that he was motivated to perform free for the prisoners because he was once in their shoes.
He denied the claim saying ” I have never been a prisoner and I laughed when I learnt that people thought I was once an inmate because of this gesture. I just feel we should always put a smile on the faces of other people regardless of any situation they are facing in life.”
