A man has been arrested in Abia State following allegation that he sold his 14-month old son to a herbalist for N300,000.

The suspect, George Maduabuchi(pictured with his wife and the son who has been recovered) had gone out with the baby boy on the pretext of taking him to see the herbalist after he had persistent cough.

But the father from hell, returned to the family home at Owerrinta in Isialagwa South council without the toddler, to the chagrin of his wife who is pregnant with their fifth child.

The suspect’s attempts to pacify his angry wife were all rebuffed by her. It was said that he even offered her N140, 000 as her own share of the proceeds from the sale of their son.

Their heated argument later caught the attention of their neighbours, who invited the police.

Parading the suspect on Thursday at the Abia State Police Command, Commissioner of Police, Mr. Joshak Habila told journalists that the suspect sold his son to the herbalist for N300,000 in connivance with one Obinna Erondu, who is at large.

He said the herbalist has also been arrested while the police is on the trail of Obinna.
