Narrating how Olojo was rescued and the circumstances surrounding his decision to end his life, RRS Commander, Olatunji Disu, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Olojo said the movement of the 31-year old on the bridge raised the suspicion of one of his men.

Disu said Olojo drove a grey Toyota Corolla car marked EKY312ES and pulled over on the bridge. The Commander stated that as he made attempt to skid into the lagoon, a policeman who had been watching his movement rushed to restrain him.

The Police chief explained that Olojo was an Uber driver and the cab he drove to the bridge belongs to one Kalejaiye Oluwaseyi, adding that upon questioning, he said he was in debt, and owing a creditor at Ikeja High Court three N10,000 and N80,000 to the vehicle’s owner.

Disu said the suicide suspect left a suicide note in Yoruba which when translated read: “I killed myself because of the challenges I have been facing in life. I tried my best but have achieved nothing.”
