Man kills wife, uses her dead body for ritual

A man has been accused of killing his wife, who bore him three children and used her remains for ritual in Lagos State.

The suspect, Sakiru Bello, allegedly killed his victim, Sherifat Bello, who had parted ways with him over report that he could not provide for self, her and their children on February 13, after he invited her for a chat.

But that was the last time people, who saw Sherifat leaving her house at Daramola Street in Ijora Badia area to keep an appointment with her estranged husband would see her intact.

The few who later saw her after February 13 saw her dead with her body dismembered.

“The husband is irresponsible and was unable to provide for his family. When they were together it was my sister that was taking care of their family including him. She worked as a nurse and at one time she bought him Okada, and later bought him a commercial bus.

“Not long a year ago, she raised alarm that he wanted to use her for rituals, so the two families came together and they separated them,” the deceased elder sister, who identified herself as Shakirat told newsmen.
