A man has been arrested for allegedly killing a couple, Mrs. Anna Erah and her husband, Mr. Edward Erah, with poison at Oboso community in Ogoja Local Council area of Calabar State.

The suspect, Paul Nchui(pictured) is being accused of poisoning food at a restaurant owned by the deceased couple in Ogoja.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Cross River State, ASP Irene Ugbo while confirming Nchui’s arrest, said the incident happened on Friday, March 24 at Oboso community in Ogoja Local Council, leaving two persons dead while 44 others were hospitalised at the Ogoja General Hospital.
ASP Ugbo said the 35-year-old suspect poisoned the restaurant’s food, and shortly after eating from it, the couple died, and many others fell sick.
He added that the suspect was reportedly seen by many people at the scene of the crime.
His word, “I wish to inform you that Mr. Paul Nchui, a suspect, who poisoned a restaurant in Oboso community in Ogoja has been arrested. The suspect is in our custody, we will charge him to court as soon as we conclude our investigation.”
