Man killed for drinking Trophy beer

Pandemonium broke out in Ilesha, Osun State, recently as the premises of a major brewery sealed off following an uproar that led to the killing of a socialite in the state.

The mayhem was alleged to have been master minded by some staff of the beer producing company who were averse to drinking another brand of beer in a popular joint in the ancient city.

In one swell swoop, what started as a fun gathering at a promotional venue of the International Breweries Plc, turned awry Thursday and resulted in a death, maiming and destruction of items, following the pandemonium.trophy real

OrijoReporter gathered that fun seekers, who had gathered for the promotion of one of the major brands of the brewery, ‘Trophy Lager,’ on that day at one “Calabar Kitchen” (pictured right) scurried for dear lives while the melee lasted.

The bloody free for all which led to the death of a highly influential consumer of the product, whose name cannot be gotten as at press time, took place right in the front of the premises of the International Brewery. Plc in Ilesha town.

It was alleged that the mayhem started when some staff of the company sent thugs to consumers taking other company’s brands in the restaurant chosen for the promotion.

The rough handling of consumers of other products, it was gathered, led to chaos, which eventually led to the death of this consumer who participated in the promotion.

This however, led to protest in the town as protesters blocked the gate of the Brewery from entry.
