Man beats wife to death

A man has allegedly beaten his wife to death in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The suspect identified as Lekan Shonde and his victim, Ronke Shonde until her death on Friday, May 6, 2016, alongside their two children resided at No 5, Tiemo Crescent off Awori street in Egbeda.

Report has it that while Late Ronke’s remains has been deposited at Isolo General Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy to ascertain the immediate and remote cause of her death, Lekan, who allegedly beaten her to death is on the run.

Neighbours craving anonymity said they could hear the couple fighting in the morning on Friday.

They explained that they later heard their children crying, and had to force the door open and were surprised to find the mother-of-two battered to death lying in the pool of her blood with her spouse out of sight.

Sources told OrijoReporter that the case was reported to the police by their landlady, Mrs. E.B Tiemo of 5, Tiemo Street, Ile Epo Alhaji, Egbeda at Area M Command at Idimu.

It was further gathered that the case has been transferred to the Homicide Unit of the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID, Panti, and the police are on Lekan’s trail.
