The Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) ordered the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria to strike out Ugwuonye’s name from the apex court’s scroll where names of every bonafide lawyer in the country are found over alleged professional misconduct.

Ugwuonye was allegedly found guilty of fraud.

The Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee is a body that regulates and ultimately sanctions lawyers for failure to comply with standards governing professional conduct of legal practitioners.
