Lagos Okada/Keke ban: Ogun reverses self

Ogun State Government has made a volte-face on its stance on the ban of Okada and tricycles by neighbouring Lagos State.

Ogun Chairman, Caretaker Committee on Transportation, Mr. Femi Adeniyi, had on Monday welcomed the potential relocation of Okada and tricycle operators to the state.

However, on Wednesday the government made a seeming about-turn on the issue via a statement the Special Adviser on Public Communications to Governor Dapo Abiodun, Remmy Hazzan released.

Hassan said nobody was authorised to speak on the issue on the government’s behalf.

Hazzan added that Okada operation is replete with many challenges, adding that State does not have the capacity to cope with the menace and security challenges the influx of the Okada operators from Lagos and any other neighbouring state will bring.
