The Treasurer of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Jibowu-Yaba Branch, Alowonle Asekun, was on Friday last week murdered in cold blood.
Asekun was killed in apparent assassination attack at Grammar School area of the Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State.
His killers, according to multiple reports, waylaid him while on his way out of the Ajasa-Lamberu Street in the Grammar School area and opened fire on him in front of the First Atlantic School.
He was said to have died on the spot leaving behind more than one wife.
Asekun’s killing was said to be causing panic in the Jibowu and Fadeyi areas of the state with fear that hoodlums sympathetic to the deceased taking their pound of flesh on persons they suspected have hands in the late NURTW treasurer’s murder.
