Kidnappers disguising as fishermen – Police

The police have warned fishermen to steer clear of some routes on the water following the discovery by the force that some kidnappers were disguising as fishermen to spy on security operatives’ activities.

The warning to real fishermen followed the kidnapping of the six pupils of Igbonla Model College, Epe.

According to report, some fishermen(file image) were arrested on suspicion of tipping the kidnappers off in the creek on the activities of the police.

Meanwhile on Monday, representatives of Lagos State Government met with the parents and school management of Igbonla Model College.

During the meeting, report said the state government made it clear it won’t negotiate with the kidnappers. Rather, the state was poised to rescue the pupils with solely security option.
Report has it that the kidnappers contacted each parent of the pupils on phone asking them between N10m and N20m ransom.
