Former unified light-welterweight world champion, Amir Khan, has admitted that he was wrong to claim that unified world heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, was sleeping with his wife, Faryal Makhdoom.
Khan in a twitter spat with Faryal during which he said he was done with his marriage to the model that produced a daughter, accused her of having affair with Joshua.
But on Friday in another post, he admitted his allegation against Joshua was false.
He wrote: “@anthonyfjoshua glad all is cleared up and all lies. I got angry like any man would. No truth to it. Good to know. All the best.”
Consequently, the half-British-half-Nigerian replied, “Apology accepted.”
Prior to the posts by the two boxers that settled it all, Faryal wrote: “I’ve been quiet for some time because myself I didn’t know what’s going on. Everything that’s going on is not just right and a complete misunderstanding.
“The screenshots sent to Amir were fake and Amir thought Joshua and I were speaking…when we have never even met.
“Anger took the better of him and he tweeted away without even thinking there was absolutely no truth to it.
“It’s all cleared up with both teams now and again, there was NOTHING like that going on.
“Apologies for all this nonsense. Let’s get on with life now.”
