Kate Henshaw accepts Akpororo’s apology over advert scandal, Sources say
Actress Kate Henshaw has accepted Akpororo’s apology after the comedian used her picture in the advertisement for his upcoming music and comedy concert without her approval.
Akpororo had used Kate Henshaw’s name and picture, and some others in the entertainment industry to promote his 2016 Akpororo vs Akpororo show, slated for Lagos.
The advert infuriated the 44-year-old actress.
She took to her Instagram handle where she told the comedian to drop her name and picture from all promotional materials for the show within 48-hour.
“There is a thing called RESPECT in this industry. The sooner people recognise this… the better it will be for all. Do not take my smile and simplicity for stupidity! Notice of 48 hours is hereby given to the organisers to remove my name and image from all publicity associated with this event,” the single-mother-of-one wrote.
Consequently, the Ilaje-born comedian ate humble pie and owned up to his mistakes.
“Good evening ma, Before anything else, I just want to say I am very sorry ma for the misunderstanding, so sorry for not following up after our last conversation about my show ‘Akpororo vs Akpororo’ holding at Eko Hotel and Suites on July 8 when you were out of the country. I will never disrespect you or even take you for granted for any reason, I respect you so much ma, please pardon me ma. Thanks and GOD bless you ma,” he pleaded to the veteran actress in an Instagram post.
Entertainment industry sources told OrijoReporter that Akpororo’s apology has taken the edge off Kate Henshaw’s anger.
It was said that she has accepted his apology and will be at the event.
It would be recalled that Jephta Bowoto better known as Akpororo started his music and comedy concert, Akpororo vs Akpororo in August 2014. The event was held at the Shell hall of Muson Centre.
