KANU’S WIFE ACCUSED UK OF NEGLECT

Wife of Biafra protagonist, and Radio Biafra’s director, Nnamdi Kanu, Uchechi Kanu, has accused British government of neglecting her husband.

Mrs. Kanu whose husband is a British-Nigerian dual national in an interview she granted American media, Newsweek, said the British government turned a blind eye to her husband’s continuous detention by the Nigerian government despite being granted bail by the court.

“His human rights have been violated and international human rights bodies should be all over the place because he is also human.

“From my perspective, the British government are evading some responsibility. They should be doing more, they should visit him more… It’s obvious and apparent that the Nigerian government and the DSS is not obeying the law.

“It is for the British government to get involved, to make sure that this person’s human rights are being respected, and they haven’t done that. They’ve been to see my husband but that is not where it ends,” says the nursing mother, who married Kanu in 2009 and lives with her husband, step-son in London.
