A carpenter has hanged himself to death on Saturday in Abeokuta after his concubine duped him and broke up with him.
The middle-aged man identified as Shamsudeen Akinwumi was found hanging on the ceiling fan in his room located at Aboaba Street, Itori-Odo, Abeokuta around 3.00pm.
It was said that he was initially with his children in the room but created space for himself to embark on the final journey by sending them on an errand.
Sources revealed that a suicide note was found near him where he detailed his reason for killing himself.
It was further gathered that the police have visited the scene and have taken the corpse away to commence investigation into the suicide.
Attempts made by our correspondent to get the identity of Shamsudeen’s concubine were not successful as the time of publishing this report.
