Ghana is the only country in Africa that was close to reaching the World Cup Final.

The West-African nation reached the quarter-finals of the 2010 World Cup where they were eliminated by Uruguay on penalties after Luis Suárez controversially handballed on the goal line deep into extra time, denied them an almost certain winning goal.

In an interview he granted Complete Sports, Okocha, said he cannot help but admire the massive talents at Gernot Rohr ‘s disposal, adding that “all that is required now is for the players to look beyond Africa’s semi-final expectations.”

Speaking further: “If you look at the ’embarrassment’ of young talents the country is parading now, it shows that we will have a good team in Russia. But they need to believe in themselves and realise that they are better than just being a partaker.”
