On Monday, July 7, 2014, family and friends came together at Offa in Kwara State, to pay their last respects to First Bank branch manager, Habeeb Olatunde who recently committed suicide in Arepo, an Ogun State suburb.
The venues were Sao Arile Mo Ile around Idi-Ogun and the deceased’s father’s house at Ijakadi Area where the funeral ceremony took place simultaneously.
Sources who shared the intimate story of the Olatundes with Orijoreporter said Habeeb’s father runs a diagnostic centre located around General Hospital in Offa, and the senior Olatunde is fondly called Baba Ileje.
It was gathered that the late First Bank manager’s mother was also a banker but she is now late. His siblings, Medinat, is a medical doctor and works in a state in the north while the deceased’s brother works with an oil firm in Rivers State.
It would be recalled that Habeeb Olatunde was found dead in an uncompleted building last Saturday at Arepo. Police investigation did not suspect foul play. Rather, it discovered that Olatunde hanged himself to death, and the suicide was not unconnected to pressure he was facing in his office.
