INEC ask Gov. Uzodinma to prove allegation that staff are PDP members

Claim by Imo State governor, Hope Uzodinma, that staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Southeast are members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has drawn response from the electoral umpire.

Uzodinma had said INEC senior staff in Southeast are card-carry members of the PDP and worked to derail his emergence on account which he resorted to Supreme Court to protect his mandate.

The governor’s claim has elicited response from the electoral body with its National Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu’s media aide, Rotimi Oyekanmi, saying in a statement: “it is quite surprising that Mr. Hope Uzodinma is affirming that all INEC senior staff in the southeast, are card carrying members of a political party.

“How did he come to that conclusion? The commission will be grateful if he could supply the INEC headquarters with the compelling proof of that allegation so that action can be taken.”
