OrijoReporter gathered that Alh. Elelu’s refusal to allow the emir and his aides to have their ways with him pitched them on warpath.
Investigation revealed that the emir lobbied hard to get some candidates admitted into Kwara State Polytechnic for 2016/2017 academic session but was not successful with all of them.
It was gathered that the emir was inundated with complaints about the rector from several quarters.
“Some notable Islamic Organisations who had some issues with the Rector and report the case to the palace were blatantly told to iron it out with him by themselves.
“He had warned his aides and others close to him to stay off Kwara Poly because of the rector’s attitude,” a palace source told OrijoReporter.
It was further gathered that a popular Ilorin-based Islamic cleric had made attempt to settle the rift between the emir and the Kwara Poly rector but was unsuccessful.
“A notable Ilorin Alfa who wants to settle the rift had always been avoided by the Rector as several emissary sent to him were rebuffed by his aides,” OrijoReporter was told.
OrijoReporter learnt that some local contractors in Kwara State are also having it tough with the rector. The contractors who are said to be politicians, sources said, are plotting the removal of the rector and have concluded arrangement to write a petition against him to the state government.
