Ex-Abia State Governor and Senator-elect, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu said he will broker peace between Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Saraki and Tinubu are in a politically motivated bitter row that dates back to 2015 when the former, then an APC members connived with senators elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to emerge as Senate President against the wish of the leadership of his party.
Since then centre could not hold between them and recently they traded insults publicly.
In an interview with newsmen in Johannesburg on Tuesday, Kalu said he was going settle the rift between the warring duo whom he claimed were his mutual friends.
His word, “Having known the duo of Saraki and Tinubu for decades, I am not comfortable with the media war. As a mutual friend to both parties, it is my responsibility to intervene in the rift for the sake of friendship.”
Continued: “Many years ago, I settled the rift between President Muhammadu Buhari and General Ibrahim Babangida, Chief Odimegwu Ojukwu and Dr. Alex Ekwueme and many others. Saraki and Tinubu will settle their differences in no distant time.”
