The 49-year-old lawyer was rushed to the hospital after he started feeling ill in the early hours of Wednesday but attempts made by doctors at the Emergency Unit to stabilize him were futile as he died later in the day.

Aturu, who came into prominence when, as a member of the National Youth Service Corps, he refused to shake the hand of a military administrator  of Niger State, Col.
