How Mavin, YBNL Records are killing our business – African China

Popular reggae/ragga artiste, Chinagorom Onuoha better known as African China, has attributed the dwindling popularity of most musicians to a cabal of record labels owners. mavin-records1

African China stated this in response to question about his perceived popularity slump on Your View, a talk-show programme on Television Continental where he was a guest.

Giving reason why his music career and that of many others were not being raved about like before, African China blamed it on the likes of Don Jazzy, and Olamide, who formed a cabal with the signing of several artistes to their record labels.

“If a corporate body want to do show, and they want some numbers of artistes, they would prefer to give it to a group rather than picking artiste here and there,” the Ajegunle boy artiste explained.

Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records has on its roaster, Tiwa Savage, Dr. Sid, Korede Bello, and Reekado Banks among others while Olamide’s YBNL Nation has in its rank, Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold and other notable acts.
