Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom said he recently had a close shave with death – courtesy some marauding Fulani herdsmen.
Ortom disclosed this on Monday in Makurdi when he was a guest on a programme, “issue of the moment” on Radio Benue.
The governor said he was in his farm last week when marauding Fulani herdsmen struck firing gunshots at him and his livestock before help came his way in the form of the state security taskforce.
He said: “I was on my farm within Makurdi town last week when some herdsmen shot at me and shot the livestock guards who were on the farm. I have to inform the Operation Whirl Stroke before the herdsmen ran away.”
