How House of Reps member who died on Thursday escaped jail sentence
Hon. Elijah Adewale, representing Ifako Ijaiye Constituency, Lagos State, died on Thursday at the age of 65 in his Abuja residence.

The former Chairman, Ifako/Ijaiye Local Government, in 1985, had a hand in the death of a bus conductor in Lagos. Then he was in the Nigeria Police Force, and was a Superintendent of Police.
Confirmed reports have it that Hon. Adewale and his police orderly had engaged a bus conductor in a fight at Palmgrove, Lagos, during which the conductor was shot dead. Subsequently, the late lawmaker and his orderly were charged with manslaughter but curiously spared of jail term.
However, the force dismissed him and his orderly.
OrijoReporter further gathered that the deceased was a lecturer before he joined the force. At a time in his political career, Hon. Adewale was a former Special Adviser on Education to former Governor Babatunde Fashola during the latter’s administration.
