Federal Lawmaker hospitalised after being beaten by mob in Niger

A House of Representatives member, representing Bosso, Paiko Federal Constituency in the Niger East senatorial zone of Niger State, Salihu Adamu, has been hospitalised after being battered and left bloody by a group of youths in his constituency.

The mob were said to be aggrieved at Hon. Adamu over allegation that he abandoned them after winning election into the House, and attacked him last Monday at a political meeting in his constituency.

Reports said he was told by the aggrieved youths to leave the meeting when he was sighted but refused. Consequently, he was attacked and his car vandalised.

It was said that Hon. Adamu was first on admission at a hospital in Tunga area in Minna, the state capital before being transferred to a medical centre in Kaduna.

It was further gathered that the State Police Command have arrested three suspects in connection with the attack.
