Nearly half of British adults have had sex in a car at least once.
Conducted by BBA Reman, the survey asked 2,018 people aged 18 or over about their risqué behaviour.
59% of 33- to 55-year-olds confirmed they’ve engaged in sexual activity inside a vehicle, while only 38% of 18- to 34-year-olds have by comparison.
The poll also found that adults in their lifetime have had sex five times on average.
The Ford Fiesta (29%) was the most common car for explicit activities, followed by the Volkswagen Golf (27%), Vauxhall Corsa (23%), Mini (21%) and Renault Clio (18%).
Founder of BBA Reman Chris Swan said: “We all remember what it’s like to be young and in love, but with very little privacy or places to be alone with a partner.
“It seems that the high number of older adults admitting to engaging in sexual activities in their cars highlights a generation gap.
“Nowadays, it is much more acceptable for younger unmarried couples to share a bed, compared to twenty or thirty years ago when they had to sneak away for some fun.”
