A beggar, Godwin Fawehinmi, has been caught with guns and other several dangerous weapons in Idimu, Egbeda area of Lagos State.

Fawehinmi, who is crippled and begs for alms on the streets was arrested at the weekend by detectives attached to Area M Police Command, Idimu, Egbeda area of the state.
His arrest followed a tip-off by persons suspecting his activities and the company of people he kept.
Eyewitness said at the scene of his arrest, a gun was found on him while at his Alhaji Sadiku Street residence, Akowonjo, Egbede, where he was dragged to, several others including various dangerous weapons were discovered.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Chike Oti, confirmed Fawehinmi’s arrest.
He said: “The crippled was arrested based on credible information available to the Commissioner of Police, Imohinmi Edgal, who now ordered that the man mentioned in the intelligence report be arrested.
“The operatives of the command went after him, conducted search in his house and premises and recovered different types of guns, axes, machetes and other weapons. Investigation is still on-going.”
