Fraud: AOCOED buys Ambode’s portrait for N.9m

A Governing Council of Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED), Ijanikin, Lagos-constituted panel probing the finances of the institution has found that the school previous management purchased one portrait of Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode for N900,000.

The revelation was made known to The Sun by the Chairman of AOCOED Governing Council, Prof. Tunde Samuel in an interview where he said the purchase was discovered by the panel and confirmed by the Implementation Committee as well as forensic experts invited from the Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo to examine the financial record of the college.

He explained that on interrogation, the Senior Assistant Registrar (SAR), Mojeed Babatunde, told the panel that the portrait was bought for the amount and that approval was given by the former provost, Wasiu Bashorun.

“The Ambode portrait, the SAR claimed he purchased for N900,000, I can buy under Ikeja Bridge for N2,000 or less. The SAR said he acted on the instruction of the college management,’’ he said.
