FG Approves 14 Solar Power Plants

The federal government on Tuesday announced the approval of 14 solar plants that on completion will generate 2,260 megawatts.

The approval of the carbon-free electricity was announced by the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Raji Babatunde Fashola during a meeting with French Minister of Environment and Power, Mrs. S. Royal in Abuja.

Mr. Fashola said all arrangements are in place to commence the projects in earnest.

The minister who expressed his concerns about the dearth of companies into solar panels manufacturing and assembling in the country, urged entrepreneurs to venture into the business.
