Having lost his father, Patrick, Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, arrangement is in top gear for the Lille goal poacher to come down to Nigeria from France for the deceased’s burial.
The French Ligue 1 side has reportedly arranged a private jet to bring Osimhen home for the burial.
However, the protocol of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 which banned commercial flight from landing anywhere in the country may stand between the striker and attending his father’s burial.
But the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, said it is assisting the former Sporting Charleroi star to help get the jet that will convey him landing permit.
“His club, Lille OSC of France have given him a private aircraft to come to Nigeria to be with his family and probably for the burial rites. We have applied for landing permit but we are yet to get this. However, we are still on it and hopeful for the sake of the young lad,” NFF President, Amaju Pinnick said in a statement he released on Sunday.
