A man who posed as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) has been caught in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Makinde Paul(pictured) was arrested in Adatan area of the state capital last Thursday.

The 54-year-old and father-of-four was paraded by the state Deputy Commissioner of Police, Haliru Gwandu.

Gwandu, while parading the suspect, appealed to members of the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious person parading himself/herself as security officers.

He said that the suspect had been parading himself as an officer of the Command since last year, defrauding unsuspected members of the public.

Makinde confessed to the crime to newsmen.

He said he bought the uniform from his late friend who was a policeman and had since been parading himself as an officer of the command.

He also failed some of the parade tests conducted on him by the senior officer.
