Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, on Wednesday led a team of police officers to the location of the brewery at Egba Afa, Igbogbo Bayeku communityin Ikorodu area of the state in tow with crime reporters.

Uncovered at the brewery, were several gallons and drums used for the vile operation.

Speaking, Edgal owed the discovery of the illegal brewery to collaboration between his men and the community, saying the brewery operator would not escape justice.

According to him: “The suspects will be further interrogated to know where the drinks are bottled and sold. This place was discovered on the principle of community policing. This success story of the police is evidence that community policing and partnership is working in the state.

“This is an illegal distillery where malt, stout and ethanol are being produced in an unhygienic environment, thereby feeding poison to the people.”

It will be recalled that recently one Benjamin Ojukwu was arrested for operating an illegal brewery at Ojuwoye Market, in Mushin area of Lagos State where popular alcoholic drinks including adulterated America Honey, Alfonso I, Olmeca, Hennessy, Best and Mc Gold, were brewed.
