An internet fraudster otherwise known as Yahoo boy, Onyebuchi Nwalozie Julius, has been picked up by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, for impersonating the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Godwin Emefiele to defraud innocent persons including an Arab by the name, Omar Deeb.
Onyebuchi’s stock-in-trade, according to a release by the EFCC, was to pose as Emefiele with a forged e-mail account of the apex bank’s governor, email@example.com, to wood wink his victims.
The anti-graft agency said in the dupe’s characteristic manner, he would prowl the net in search of email addresses via Google search and send convincing emails to prospective victims.
Mentioned as having fell prey to him, is said to be one Omar Deeb.
The Ngor-Okpala in Imo State born fraudster, according to report, was arrested on December 6 in Owerri and under enquiry owned up to the crime revealing that in total he made N4.5m from the shady deal.
