A former manager of a farmland at Orisada-Eyo community in the Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun State simply identified as Dauda has been arrested over alleged killing of his successor, Gbenga Okiki.

The deceased, a father of two succeeded Dauda as the farm manager but was found dead on the farm after he was allegedly killed penultimate Sunday, while harvesting tomatoes, Punch reported.

It said  late Okiki who was 37-year old had left for the farm on his motorcycle around 12pm with his nine-year-old daughter on the fateful day but failed to return.

“I prepared food for him and asked him to eat before going to the farm as he had much work to do… but said I should keep the food for him. When it was getting late, I became worried but minutes later, a man brought back his daughter…
the girl could not explain anything,” the deceased’s mother, Mrs. Celina Kiki told the paper.

The report said the Ogun State Police Command have arrested one Dauda who used to manage the farm before the owner appointed the deceased and one other person. The two suspects reportedly are being quizzed by the state Criminal Investigation Department, CID, Eleweran Abeokuta.
