Ex-Borno gov’s father killed in house fire

Father of the former governor of Borno State, Modu Sheriff, Galadima, has died in a fire outbreak at his residence in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

Report said the deceased was in his seventies and was trapped in a fire that gutted a section of his building in the early hours of Wednesday.

Reacting to Galadima’s demise, the Special Adviser to the incumbent governor on media, Malam Isa Gusau, wrote on his Facebook page: “As many Muslim already know, deaths by plague (epidemic and pandemic) and by fire, are among the seven classifications of deaths by Shahada (martyrdom), as taught from Judith of our noble prophet.”
