Former England international and Wimbledon FC star, John Fashanu, has advised Chelsea striker, Tammy Abraham, to shun the Three Lions of England and instead play for the Super Eagles.
Abraham has been a subject of intense battle between the Nigerian Football body and its English counterpart with the latter inviting the gangling striker whose start to the ongoing premier league has been impressive.
The Chelsea academy graduate, a Nigerian descent, has raked up seven goals for the London side this season culminating in his invitation by English FA for next week’s UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier.
In an interview Fashanu granted Channels TV and monitored by our correspondent, he advised the youngster against his decision to play for England.
He said in part: “What I want to tell Tammy Abraham is to make the right choice and play for his motherland which is Nigeria. He will have more time and make more appearances playing for Nigeria but the truth is he will make more money playing for England.
“It is now up to him to decide if he wants to play for Nigeria more than 50 times or if he wants to make $1m.”
