The 56-year-old Fayose in a recent interview he granted Punch said despite Obasanjo’s old age, he did not deserve respect saying the ex-president was not a man to be respected.
Claiming to know Obasanjo inside out, Fayose told the newspaper, “I’m not attacking him. I’m only saying things I know about him because I’m a living witness of Obasanjo’s life. I worked with him and know that Obasanjo is a sadist, an opportunist.”
When asked if his constant criticism of Obasanjo, who is far older than him did not violate the culture of Yoruba, a tribe the duo belong to, the governor retorted, “Elders are only meaningful when they are using their grey hair to lead the people well. Please, let us call a spade a spade. I don’t want to talk about people who are not elders by standards expected of them. You only respect grey hair when the man is upright.”
