A final year medical student of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, Einstein Chinedum, was cut off in his prime on Tuesday at a graduation party in the Judges Quarters area of the town.
Chinedum met his death purportedly in the hands of suspected cult members after fight broke out during the party held outside the school’s campus.
The deceased, who had finished writing all his papers and submitted his project was recently mobilised for the National Youth Service Corps before the ugly twist of fate.
Report said Chinedu was killed during a pandemonium that ensued following a fight between two persons. One of them, on account of the fight, was said to have invited the medical student’s killers to the scene.
It was said that in the melee, four persons, who are either students or alumni of the institution were gravely injured by the attackers.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Johnson Kokumo, confirmed Chinedu’s killing in an interview.
Kokumo, however, denied report making the rounds that five persons were killed at the ill-fated party.
