EBOLA FEARS: 2 DIE FROM EXCESSIVE SALT INTAKE IN JOS AS 20 OTHERS HOSPITALIZED

Fears about Ebola Disease has led two persons to early grave in Jos, the Plateau State Capital while twenty other’s fates are hanging in the balance.

A text message asking Nigerians to prevent Ebola attack by drinking salt water and bathing with it went viral in the country this week. Several people fell for it hook, line and sinker, and believed it without any doubts.

Reports have it that a female worshipper at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Hwolshe in Jos South, and a taxi driver developed high blood pressure and died from fatal heart attack, which led to their death. The deceased were said to be hypertensive.

About twenty people in Plateau State are presently hospitalised following excessive intake of salt.

However, the Permanent Secretary, State Ministry of Health, Dr. Elias Pede said: “he was not aware of any dead” though he had earlier confirmed to other journalist that “one person died but full details were yet to be received.”
