Dr. Muhammad had in a faulty diagnosis pronounced dead the baby in the womb of pregnant Mrs. Fatimah Ajayi(pictured with the baby) on April 19, 2017 while she was in labour.

He decided to carry out destructive surgery that involves first the amputation of the baby’s hand so as to bring out the dead body.

But it turned out that the baby now named Laila was alive when she was brought out of her mother’s womb by the principal medical officer.

Outpouring of condemnation has trailed Dr. Muhammad’s professional carelessness, particularly, online, where the news has gone viral.

“Emissaries are coming to our house to plead with us to withdraw the petition we wrote against the doctor. Some good Samaritans wrote a petition on our behalf and sent it to the government and the police, although I cannot say those who wrote it. The petition was taken to the governor, the commissioner of Health and the police,’’ the parents of the crippled baby told Leadership.
