Magistrate Alatuwo Fubara’s absence at the Port Harcourt Magistrate’s Court on Thursday following his ill-health stalled the hearing on bail application of blogger, Kemi Olunloyo, and a Port Harcourt-based publisher, Samuel Walson, who are both facing libel and cybercrime charges.
The accused had on their different blogs reported that founder and senior pastor of Salvation Ministries in Port Harcourt, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, is dating Iyabo Ojo and bought her the Range Rover she drives.
Olunloyo, the daughter of ex-governor of Oyo State, Omololu Olunloyo, blogged about the alleged romance between the top pastor and the actress.
But Walson dragged himself into trouble when he rehashed it on his website.
The court has fixed March 30, 2017, for hearing on their bail application
Olunloye was arrested in Lagos on Tuesday, and according to her in post on her Instagram handle was driven to Port Harcourt by road.
She said in the post: “FFK is my spokesman. All media to contact him. I am in Port Harcourt prison.
“Driven here Tuesday on orders of the IG. David Ibiyeomie of Salvation ministries says I defamed him because I posted a letter a church member sent me alleging corruption and adultery with Iyabo Ojo.
“Both newsmakers will not confirm or deny the allegations. The pen is mightier than the sword.”
