The former Deputy Governor of Central Bank turned politician’s governorship ambition went up in smoke as he lost to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Seyi Makinde, at the Saturday’s election.

However, Adelabu is not taking his defeat in his stride. Instead the 48-year-old is blaming some of Gov. Ajimobi’s aides for his loss, Saharareporters claimed.

According to the online medium, the APC gubernatorial candidate is aggrieved with the aides and the governor’s anointed candidate, Joseph Tegbe, who lost to him at the party primary claiming they didn’t support him.

It said the temperature between Adelabu and some persons closed to Ajmobi was high and it reached a boiling point on Sunday at the governor’s Oluyole residence as Adelabu and Iyaniwura began heated exchange of words that snowballed into full-blown fisticuffs.

“Dayo Iyaniwura, one of Adelabu’s main allies who is also a Personal Assistant to outgoing Governor Abiola Ajimobi, was caught in one of his many fits of rage at Ajimobi’s Oluyole residence on Sunday.

“Two sources who witnessed the episode confirmed to SaharaReporters that Adelabu had attacked the Governor’s PA during an argument, which resulted into an outbreak of fisticuffs between the two men,” the paper wrote.
