Business moguls Alh. Aliko Dangote and Alh Aminu Dantata are set to invest in the cement and oil industries of Sudan, Sudan’s Minister of Investment, Mustapha Usman Ismail, has disclosed.

This is just as the planned International Donor Conference would focus on rehabilitating and resettling about 200,000 refuges.

Ismail, a special envoy of Sudanese President Omar Albashir to Nigeria, spoke to journalists at the weekend on his mission in Nigeria, the potentials of Sudan as well as the intent of the Donor Conference.

He said against negative pictures painted of Sudan, the truth remained that the country as at today boasts of huge potentials  in virtually all sectors of its economy be it agriculture, oil, mining, construction, education as well as animals and meat resources.

He also revealed Sudan’s readiness to establish the Sudanese – Nigerian bank, noting that it would go a long way in cementing trade relation between the two countries, adding that about 50 international banks were already operational in Sudan.

The minister, who said he was in the country to solicit the assistance of President Goodluck Jonathan, in the actualization of the Donor Conference, clarified that as an agreement signed two years ago for which a transitional regional committee was established, the funds to be generated from the event which would come up in April, would assist in resettling the over 200,000 refugees that were affected during the crisis in the Darfur region.
