COVID-19: Dokpesi discharged after testing negative

The Founder/Chairman Emeritus of Daar Communications Plc, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, has been cured of COVID-19.

Dokpesi who contracted the virus, alongside his wife, son, daughter-in-law and some other members of his family was discharged on Thursday morning.

A statement the Executive Director, Corporate Services, DAAR Communications Plc, Mr Johnson Onime, released broke the news.

It said, Dokpesi was discharged having tested twice to the ravaging disease.

In it, the media mogul and Peoples Democratic Party stalwart expressed gratitude to workers at the isolation centre where he was on admission and some eminent persons including former Head of States, Ibrahim Babangida and ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.

It reads in part: “I am exceptionally indebted to God Almighty for keeping and protecting me and my entire family all through our isolation at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada Isolation Centre.

“I am most delighted to state that after the reconfirmation test, I have been confirmed negative for COVID-19 and so discharged accordingly in the early hours of today, Thursday, May 14, 2020.”
