The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the federal government to declare the whereabouts of the Chinese medical team, who were brought into the country to help in the fight against COVID-19.

The ultimatum issued by the main opposition is coming on the heels of Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire’s statement that he did not know the whereabouts of the team.

The team has been dogged by controversy even before their arrival with several groups including the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, either raising objection to their coming or viewing their ability to help the country’s cause in the battle against the scourge with scepticism.

PDP in a statement its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan described as suspicious, creepy and weird that the minister of health, who had repeatedly assured that the Chinese were brought to render medical services and trainings; and even went personally to receive them at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja on April 8, 2020; in an elaborately publicized event, can no longer account for the team.
