Cook accused of poisoning boss’s guest
A cook, Anthony Adomaya, has been accused of poisoning his boss’s guest’s food in Lekki area of Lagos State.
Adomaya, 25, was charged with attempted murder and appeared before a Tinubu magistrates’ court on a one-count charge.
The suspect, however, pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder charge.
The prosecutor, Mr. Ben Ekundayo, told the court that the accused committed the offences on June 19 at about 2.00 p.m. at Justice Court, Lekki.
He said Kayode was directed to prepare a meal for a guest but poisoned the food with a liquid substance.
According to Ekundayo, “When he served the food which had a strong offensive smell, he fled the house and returned in the middle of the night to pack his belongings.”
The prosecutor said the offences contravened sections 241 and 404 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The magistrate, Mr. Ade Adefulire, granted the accused N100,000 bail with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case till July 1.
