The burial ceremony of Human Right Activist and lawyer, Bamidele Aturu who died last week was dogged by controversy as family members and friends squabbled over his final resting place.

While close friends were said to have had a preference for Lagos State where he lived until he breathed his last, the deceased’s aged parents, Mr. and Mrs. Felix Aturu (pictured) were said to have argued for Ogbagi-Akoko in Akure, the Ondo State capital where he hailed from.

His wife was said to be so distraught to the point that she had no opinion.

However, sources said that after much ado, the two sides reached a compromise and settled for Akure. It was said that the funeral ceremony of the 49-year-old lawyer who handled Nollyhood actor, Babatunde Omidina popularly known as Baba Suwe’s drug case against National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) is scheduled for Friday next week, July 25.

It was also gathered that the deceased’s father, 82-year-old retired Customary Court Judge is battling stroke.
