Onnoghen who was convicted for non-declaration of five of his accounts with the Standard Chartered Bank stated this while reacting to his conviction.

The Danladi Umar-led three-man panel of the tribunal had ordered Onnoghen’s removal from the office of CJN, his forfeiture of various sums of monies in naira, euros, pounds and dollars denominations found in the convict’s five bank accounts and barred him from holding public office for 10 years

The ex-CJN in his reaction to the verdict via his lawyer torn into it, going spiritual in the process.

He said, “Justice has not been done today, but it will be done tomorrow. If not by the tribunal, then our courts, and if not, Justice will be done by God. This is our position in this matter.”
