President Muhammed Buhari has reportedly ordered the probe of Office of the Chief of Staff under late Abba Kyari.
The presidential mandate covers alleged appointments and decisions carried out hitherto oblivious to the President including those that contradicted his directives while Kyari was in charge, according to The Guardian.
The paper said the investigation has precipitated apprehension among persons who the deceased acted in their best interests.
They are reportedly gripped by fears of the likely reversal of some decisions of the late Chief of Staff which benefited them.
According to the report, over 150 memos from the presidency, which did not have the President’s imprimatur have been uncovered.
It quoted Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, as saying when asked to confirm or deny that alleged investigation: “I’ve seen your text. I’ve seen your text.”
Recall that following Kyari’s demise from coronavirus related complications, the President appointed Prof. Ibrahim Gambari as his new CoS.
